Meet Our Lead Coach & DIRECTORS

Reggie Fluker, MBA

Reggie Fluker is our Lead Coach, founder and volunteer Executive Director.  He is a community builder who grew up poor on the east side of Detroit in a family of eight children, a stay-at-home mom, and a very hard working auto-worker dad. At a very young age, Reggie knew he wanted better and realized knowledge was the key he needed to access that which he desired.  At that time, he dreamed to be "rich by 40", so Reggie first became an entrepreneur at the age of 10 by shoveling snow and cutting grass for neighbors, operating a newspaper route, and selling things like candy and flower seeds.  As a general laborer, Reggie worked hard, sacrificed luxuries, did self-study, obtained a fully self-paid college education, and ultimately became a self-made professional with a net worth of seven figures.

Throughout high school and college, Reggie studied economics, business administration, finance, accounting, and taxation at Detroit's Cass Technical High School and Wayne State University.  Becoming rich by 40 did not happen; in fact, at about the age of 29, a real estate broker told Reggie "...you'll never be rich, because you're too busy helping people for free. You've got to be focused on making the next dollar."  Reggie dismissed this comment, because his parents had reared him to help people and not to love money. So, instead he changed his wealth goal to becoming "financially comfortable".

Occupationally, Reggie has work experience in several environments that include retail, automotive manufacturing, law enforcement, legal assistance, insurance, mortgage lending (commercial & residential), real estate (commercial & residential sales, brokering, investing, inspection, & property management), community redevelopment, and education & training.  Reggie first left the job market and entered the world of entrepreneurship in 1980 (age 26); he referred to this as going into “semi-retirement”. Sixteen years later, the Executive Director of a Michigan public housing community asked Reggie to take a job to assist in the agency’s asset management and community re-development activities. Reggie worked in this and similar environments for the next four years (2000), then again left the job market to return to entrepreneurship (semi-retirement.) He retired from all active employment, including self-employment, in 2016.

Reggie has been regularly assisting individuals and families improve their financial literacy skills and well-being since 1996, when he started working in public housing, where he recognized the level of effort and sacrifice many residents were willing to make to uplift themselves out of poverty to become self-sufficient. He also recognized that, unfortunately, most residents did not have a good understanding of basic economics and finance (financial literacy); however, with assistance, they were able to improve their financial comprehension, became empowered, and were more likely to accomplish their life goals. Clearly, improved financial literacy leads to greater success and prosperity.

Reggie now readily uses his God-given knowledge and experience to assist others toward accomplishing their personal wealth goals.
